How does the environment play a crucial role in making learning meaningful for children? At our newly-launched Little Seeds Preschool (Church of the Good Shepherd)<\/a>, the concept of “Environment as a Third Teacher”, coined by the founder of Reggio Emilia, was built into the thoughtful design of the school.

For example, the natural lighting and neutral colour scheme allows children to be comfortable and more focused in learning. Open shelves are used in our learning spaces which allows children to access their play things and make decisions for themselves. When children get to choose how they want to shape the space, it allows them to experience a sense of ownership and belonging in school.

The environment is not the only unique feature of LSP (COGS). The centre also runs a Chinese Immersion Programme where children are fully immersed in Chinese learning through activities that cultivate an interest and love for the Chinese language!
