Raising a child is one of life\u2019s most profoundly meaningful experiences. That said, the journey also comes with its share of challenges, which is why having the strong support of a \u201cvillage\u201d makes all the difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking back on the past four years of my daughter Emma\u2019s preschool journey, my husband and I couldn\u2019t be more grateful for the Little Seeds Preschool (Calvary Baptist Church) community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we began our search for a preschool, the one thing that immediately stood out about LSP was its spirit of \u201cfamily.\u201d It was heartening to hear from Principal Pamela Chan that the children address their teachers as \u201cAunty,\u201d fostering a warm learning environment that feels like an extension of home.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this nurturing atmosphere, Emma has grown from a crying toddler who would cling to us at drop-off, to a cheerful five-year-old who happily goes to school and comes home eager to share what she\u2019s learned. She tells us about the books they\u2019ve read, observations from their outdoor walks, and funny stories about her teachers and friends. She even mimics her teachers\u2019 discipline techniques (much to our amusement)!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma was so proud to be “Leader of the day”. She came home and told us all about it. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the loving and supportive relationships between the staff and children, we\u2019re incredibly grateful that LSP goes above and beyond to build strong relationships with parents through regular touchpoints and engagement. This has allowed us to take an active role in Emma\u2019s learning and has significantly contributed to her holistic development.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We always look forward to receiving news about Tea Parties, Project Showcases, and other events through the Little Lives app, marking our calendars to ensure we don\u2019t miss the opportunity to learn about Emma\u2019s educational experiences throughout the year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mummies (especially the K1 Mummies) are also thrilled when we\u2019re invited to join special occasions like this year\u2019s Teachers\u2019 Day celebration, where we gather to practice for such performances.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most importantly, the strong teacher-parent relationship enables both sides to work together for the child\u2019s benefit. As the only child in her immediate and extended family for four years, socializing with other children didn\u2019t come as naturally to Emma as we had expected. Interestingly, she tended to gravitate toward adults in most social settings.

However, with the intentional and consistent support of her teachers, combined with many weekend playdates on our part, Emma has come to enjoy the company of her school friends and even has a best friend now! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Emma enters her final year at Little Seeds, we\u2019re filled with gratitude for all the love and support we\u2019ve received\u2014not just in Emma\u2019s fulfilling journey as a student, but in our own journey as parents. We are truly blessed to have principal Pamela and her team, whose hard work and heartfelt care have made such a difference in our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
