At Little Seeds Preschool, we believe the preschool years are more than preparation for Primary 1. These are important years in their own right, when children are discovering what they can do, learning how to relate to others and slowly forming their view of the world around them.

A bilingual preschool curriculum built around how children learn
Children are naturally curious. Good learning gives that curiosity somewhere to go.
Little Seeds Preschool offers a bilingual, play-based preschool curriculum that develops children across language and literacy, Chinese, numeracy, sensory play and inquiry, art, music and movement, motor skills, values and social-emotional development. The curriculum is aligned with Singapore’s Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) framework.
In the classroom, this can take many forms.
Mathematics might happen while children sort, build and compare. An inquiry can begin with a child asking, “Why did that happen?” Language develops through stories and conversations, and when children find the words to explain an idea to a friend. Art and music give them different ways to express what they see, feel and imagine.
There is purposeful teaching too. Children build foundations in phonics and reading, Chinese language and literacy, mathematical thinking and other skills that prepare them for Primary 1. But we also pay attention to the person doing the learning.
Can this child focus on a task? Communicate what they need? Listen to someone else’s point of view? Keep going when something is difficult?
These abilities matter in Primary 1. More importantly, they matter in life.
Growing character through everyday moments
Little Seeds Preschool is a faith-based Christian preschool, and character development sits at the heart of our approach.
For a young child, values make the most sense when they become part of everyday life.
Kindness becomes real when someone notices a classmate who needs help. Responsibility is practised when children care for their belongings and classroom. Self-control develops while waiting for a turn. Honesty matters when a mistake has been made and a child has to decide what to do next.
These are ordinary moments, but they are important ones.
Our Values Matter programme is integrated across the preschool years, alongside opportunities for children to develop social-emotional skills and learning dispositions. Teachers also use real situations that happen during the day as opportunities for conversation, reflection and growth.
We hope that over time, children grow not only in what they know, but in who they are becoming: curious, resilient, compassionate and confident young people.

Curriculum matters. Learning environments matter. But when parents look back on their child’s preschool years, very often they remember a teacher.
The teacher who noticed that something was not quite right that morning.
The teacher who patiently helped through weeks of difficult drop-offs.

That relationship between educator and child is something we value deeply.
Our teachers guide learning, but they also observe, listen and encourage. They create room for questions and play, help children work through friendships and emotions, and give them the confidence to try something they have not quite mastered yet.
Warmth does not mean having no boundaries. Children need both. A caring relationship, together with clear and consistent guidance, gives them the security to explore, make mistakes and try again.

The things we hope children take with them
One day, every child will leave preschool.
They may not remember the activity they completed on a particular Tuesday. They will probably forget some of the songs they once knew by heart.
But there are things we hope stay with them.
The confidence to ask a question. The patience to listen to someone else. The courage to have another go when the first attempt does not work. The instinct to show kindness. And, perhaps most importantly, the sense that learning is something worth being curious about.
That is what we hope to nurture during these early years.
Small things, perhaps.
But then again, that is how seeds grow.
