Happy Mother’s Day to a remarkable mother, educator and wife

She is worth far more than rubies

By Revd Paul Xavier

As a husband and father, I am humbled by the strength and grace of my wife, Mrs Monica Xavier, as I witness the daily miracles that unfold in my family. This Mother’s Day, I am honoured to share a glimpse of her tireless commitment, unwavering love, and boundless energy that she pours into every aspect of her life.

As Principal of Little Seeds Preschool (St. Paul’s Church), Monica is not just a working mother; she is the cornerstone of our family’s foundation. Her days are a testament to her unyielding responsibility, seamlessly weaving together the roles of a devoted wife, a caring mother, a responsible daughter, a dedicated childcare principal, and a pillar of our church community (as a pastor’s wife). She navigates these roles with grace and determination, never once faltering in her devotion to each.

During the transition of St. Paul’s Church Kindergarten to Little Seeds Preschool, Monica and her team were involved in major renovations to transform the school from a kindergarten to a child care. The pivot not only impacted the staff but also caused a drop in enrolments among parents.

Despite these challenges, Monica’s faith in God and her belief in the transformation process kept her steady. She took proactive steps to encourage and support her team, helping them see the positive aspects of the change. This positive reinforcement played a crucial role in navigating the transition smoothly.

Outside of work, Monica’s dedication to her family is evident through managing the household responsibilities from cooking and cleaning to checking on our children’s school homework. Moreover, Monica also finds time amidst her busy schedule to care for her parents, and even caring for her own personal well-being through exercise and keeping fit!

As a pastor’s wife, she also actively participates in church activities, dedicating her time to support youth initiatives, offering prayers, leading worship sessions, and providing a compassionate presence to families in need. She leads by example, showing our children, Zechariah and David, 16 and 12, the importance of a strong work ethic, self-care, and unwavering love for others.

In Proverbs 31:10, it is written, “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.” Monica exemplifies this noble character in every action she takes. Her commitment to our family’s well-being knows no bounds. From ensuring our children receive the best education and guidance, to managing the demands of our home with unparalleled efficiency, Monica is a beacon of light in our lives.

Proverbs 31:28-29 captures the essence of Monica’s impact: “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.'” Indeed, Monica surpasses expectations in every role she fulfils. Her love, strength, and resilience inspire us all.

Monica’s impact and influence within both her family and school community is profound and far-reaching. In school, children are drawn to Monica’s warm and calm presence, often seeking comfort in her arms. She has a remarkable ability to console crying children, earning her the reputation as the go-to person for emotional support.

Her caring nature also helps new anxious parents feel as ease as their children transition into the school. Through her compassion, Monica has made a lasting impact on the emotional well-being of both children and their families in the school community.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my wife Monica for all she does. Your sacrifices, efforts, and unwavering love do not go unnoticed. May God continue to bless you abundantly in all your endeavors. You are a polished arrow in His hands, spreading love and light wherever you go. Happy Mother’s Day, Wifey! You are truly a blessing to our family and everyone whose lives you touch.

And to all mothers, may you feel deeply appreciated and cherished for all the selfless acts you do every day. You are truly extraordinary and your love shapes the world in beautiful ways.

Happy Mother’s Day!
